Leonardo DRS has unveiled SAGEcore, a software designed to give troops a complete, real-time picture of the battlefield and help them make faster, smarter decisions under pressure.

The system combines artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and edge computing to process data directly on vehicles, ships, aircraft, and even space assets.

By analyzing information on-site instead of relying on remote servers, SAGEcore cuts lag, boosts reliability, and keeps operations running even when networks go dark.

It fuses data from radar, infrared, and other intelligence sources into a single, live view of the battlespace.

That instant awareness helps troops spot threats, track targets, and coordinate command and control with greater accuracy.

When paired with the company’s AI Processor — a rugged computing system built for harsh outdoor environments — the platform handles massive data streams in real time, tracks multiple targets simultaneously, and sharpens decision-making even in challenging conditions.

Fast, Flexible, and Mission-Ready

SAGEcore is built to support a wide range of operations, from counter-drone defense and electronic warfare to autonomous missions.

Designed on open standards, it integrates smoothly with existing military systems and scales across all domains. It can also be deployed quickly through flexible acquisition models, including Other Transaction Agreements.

Leonardo said the goal is simple: deliver dependable, AI-powered decision tools to the frontlines faster and strengthen the military’s technological edge.

“What’s new isn’t just the tech — it’s how we’ve engineered it to work together at the tactical edge,” said John Baylouny, chief operating officer at Leonardo DRS.

“Our platform merges AI, sensor integration, and ruggedized computing to sense — and make sense of — an increasingly complex battlespace.”
