Turkey has introduced EVREN, its new national AI platform, giving defense companies and other users access to domestic computing, AI models, and data-processing capabilities while keeping sensitive information within the country.
The platform already has 7,500 active users and is set to expand with domestically developed language, image, and audio models.
Ankara also plans to strengthen EVREN’s computing infrastructure through distributed graphics processing unit management.
EVREN supports data labeling and computer vision tasks, including object detection, segmentation, and classification. Users can also access 11 open-weight large language models for inference.
For defense companies, these capabilities could support the development and deployment of AI for applications such as imagery analysis, object recognition, and other military data-processing tasks without sending sensitive information to foreign cloud services.
The platform can also connect AI applications through a programming interface, enabling real-time responses and automatic model routing.
Rather than charging users directly, EVREN operates on a contribution-based credit system. Users can earn credits by uploading datasets, labeling data, or sharing trained models, then spend those credits on model training and inference.
