Andro Computational Solutions in New York has landed a multimillion-dollar US Army contract to help artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) get better at understanding electronic warfare and signal intelligence data.

The work centers on RF-Gen, a new system that generates synthetic radio frequency (RF) data so AI models can train for real-world chaos, such as noisy, jammed, or fully contested airwaves, without dragging expensive field gear into the mix.

It ties into Project Linchpin, the service’s big push to field trusted, fast-deploying AI tools across its sensor and electromagnetic solution programs.

The effort, officially titled “RF-Gen: AI/ML-Ready Synthetic RF Data,” will run through Andro’s Marconi-Rosenblatt AI Innovation Lab, with commercial software-defined radio hardware provider Deepwave Digital onboard as a project partner.

RF-Gen uses generative AI to build high-fidelity RF datasets that capture everyday signal clutter along with more aggressive interference.

This lets engineers train and stress-test mission algorithms inside secure digital environments instead of relying on limited or restricted real-world RF recordings.

“RF-Gen represents a transformative step in how synthetic RF data can empower AI-driven decision-making in both military and civilian domains,” said Dr. Jithin Jagannath, chief technology officer at Andro.

“By generating highly realistic datasets, we are enabling the development of smarter, more resilient systems capable of thriving in the most challenging of RF environments.”

Built for Defense, Telecom, and Everything Between

RF-Gen’s hybrid AI/ML design works across both defense systems and commercial tech, including emerging telecom applications.

Its plug-and-play architecture allows agencies and industry to slot it into existing AI frameworks to boost system resilience and situational awareness.

Andro President Andrew Drozd said the project reflects the company’s continued work at the intersection of AI, RF engineering, and national-security tech.

“This work reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering mission-ready AI/ML technologies that bolster defense readiness while advancing the frontier of intelligent spectrum operations,” he noted.
