GTT Communications is putting artificial intelligence directly inside the network with its new Defense Halo platform, allowing it to spot vulnerabilities and cyber threats before they can become breaches.
Defense Halo uses AI to identify policy gaps, generate remediation plans, and determine whether unusual network behavior represents a genuine security threat.
It also builds a real-time model of each customer’s network, mapping connections and communications between hosts for threat hunting and vulnerability assessments.
Unlike systems that analyze traffic after it has been collected and normalized, GTT said Defense Halo performs AI inference directly within the network infrastructure.

Each customer receives a dedicated instance, while the underlying AI infrastructure is embedded in GTT’s global Tier 1 network. The company said its AI factory is hosted in the US, UK, and European Union to support data-sovereignty requirements.
The platform’s AI-driven threat detection could also support military and security operations that require rapid responses to attacks targeting sensitive networks.
GTT Defense Halo is now commercially available, with select customers already using it.
