The US Army is expanding the use of operational AI within its Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) initiative, with Striveworks scaling support from the 4th Infantry Division to the 25th Infantry Division.

As part of this broader deployment, the Texas-based firm will provide its Chariot Core platform, designed to deploy, monitor, and sustain AI systems across cloud and tactical edge environments. 

It enables operators to track model performance, identify degradation, and adapt AI systems to changing operational conditions, including in disconnected or contested environments.

During its initial NGC2 deployment with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Striveworks said operators were able to fuse intelligence from hundreds of AI systems into a single battlefield view.

This reportedly resulted in a 40-fold reduction in intelligence coordination times and a 21-fold reduction in target processing times compared with manual workflows.

“Moving from the 4th Infantry Division to the 25th Infantry Division proves these capabilities can operate across very different environments and missions,” said Kevin Strouse, Striveworks’ general manager of Command and Control Systems.

“The Pentagon doesn’t need AI that works once under ideal conditions. It needs systems that operators can trust as missions, terrain, and battlefield conditions change.”

NGC2 is the army’s effort to modernize how battlefield information is collected, shared, and acted on in real time using artificial intelligence. 

It aims to connect soldiers, sensors, vehicles, and commanders through a common operational network, enabling faster decision-making and improved data sharing across combat functions.
