The US Marine Corps is preparing to launch the Operational Data Integration Nexus (ODIN), an AI-enabled platform designed to modernize operational reporting, data integration, and decision support across the force.
Announced in MARADMIN 281/26, ODIN will become the service’s official application for Operational Situation Reports (SITREPs), replacing legacy workflows with a centralized digital system.
AI-Powered Reporting
According to DefenseScoop, ODIN is built on Palantir’s Maven Smart System, an AI-powered data platform already used across the US military, including combatant commands.
The US Marine Corps describes ODIN as a “next-generation decision support tool” that automates data entry by pulling information from authoritative databases and converting operational data into actionable insights for commanders.
Instead of relying on manually written narrative SITREPs, the platform aggregates structured operational data into a centralized dashboard, providing commanders with a near real-time operational picture while improving data sharing across the force.
‘More Than a Reporting Tool’
Officials said the current document-based reporting process requires information to be created and consolidated across multiple command levels, slowing information sharing and increasing administrative workload.
ODIN is designed to streamline that process through centralized data integration.
Lieutenant General Jay Bargeron, deputy commandant for plans, policies, and operations, described ODIN as “more than a reporting tool,” calling it “a strategic asset that returns valuable time to our commanders.”
“By automating the flow of data from the tactical edge to strategic decision makers, we are equipping our Marines with the near real-time information required to outpace our adversaries and fight effectively in a distributed environment,” Bargeron said.
Rollout Begins July 7
ODIN is scheduled to become the marine corps’ official operational reporting platform on July 7.
Before the rollout, the Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies, and Operations will issue implementation guidance, while commanders have already been directed to activate Maven Smart System licenses and prepare designated personnel to transition to the new platform.
