The UAE Ministry of Defence is preparing to launch a series of artificial intelligence and digital transformation projects aimed at modernizing defense operations.

The planned initiatives include AI-enabled tools for planning and data analysis, alongside systems designed to improve resource management and operational responsiveness, according to a report by Gulf News.

The effort comes as the UAE expands the use of AI across government functions under the UAE Digital Transformation Strategy 2031.

It covers upgrading digital infrastructure, integrating AI systems across military operations, and strengthening national capabilities for future transformation programs.

In a separate statement, UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the country aims for 50 percent of government sectors, services, and operations to run on “Agentic AI” within two years.

He also described AI as an “executive partner” for improving government efficiency and decision-making.

The latest announcement follows wider UAE efforts to scale up AI and autonomy programs in the defense sector, including an AI-focused drone programming competition launched by EDGE Group and the Ministry of Defence.
