The US Air Force’s 325th Fighter Wing has introduced a suite of airman-developed AI tools designed to streamline sustainment, contracting, air traffic control, and other mission support functions.

The capabilities were presented during the Artificial Intelligence and Automation Showcase at Tyndall Air Force Base, an event highlighting solutions aimed at improving productivity and operational readiness.

The demonstration reflects the Pentagon’s broader push to incorporate AI into routine workflows, encouraging personnel to automate repetitive tasks and accelerate decision-making.

AI Tools in Action

Among the featured projects was an F-35 sustainment dashboard developed by the 325th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

The dashboard consolidates PowerPoint and Excel reports into a single interface, providing real-time sustainment metrics while reducing manual reporting.

According to the US Air Force, the tool could be scaled across the broader F-35 enterprise to improve logistics visibility and fleet readiness.

Other demonstrations focused on AI tools for contracting and air traffic control.

Technical Sergeant David Volberg, a contracting officer with the 325th Contracting Squadron, showcased an AI application that assists with requirements development, market research, and contract administration. 

Technical Sergeant John Lewis, the 325th Operations Support Squadron’s radar approach control senior watch supervisor, also presented an AI tool that streamlines training pipelines, administrative processes, and real-time staffing.

“Technology is moving incredibly fast, and we can’t afford to be bogged down by outdated processes,” said Staff Sergeant Christopher Sawyer. “Using AI doesn’t replace the airmen, it takes the busywork off our plates so we can focus on the bigger picture.”
